535 hester i en Corolla burde vel duge for de fleste av oss?

Fensport som står bak den bilen der, antar det er en firehjulstrekker versjon av Corolla men er faktisk ikke helt sikker.. det er så klart en 3S-GTE som står i bilen :)

Hi Guys, heres the next stage in project corolla tuning.

After the last rolling road run, we knew we had found the limit of our internal wastegate GT28 turbo and were stuck at 463bhp. So the next logical step was to increase the turbo size and go to remote wastegate.

After some research into the marketplace, we decided on a GT3035 Hybrid turbo and a 50mm HKS remote wastegate.

At this stage the manifold has also been replaced with a beautifully crafted HKS Stainless steel manifold witch mounts the turbo higher up on the engine and the wastegate is mounted below.
The manifold is designed for the rev3 mr2, so not sure of suitability for the gt4. For the Corolla, I`ve modified the flange to T3, and raised the wastegate flange, for more clearance, I also added some sturdy bracing to the engine block, and braced the wastegate port.
There is a mandrel bent 50mm exhaust system, which dumps to atmosphere Screamer stylee, this is for the wastegate gasses only, and sounds absolutely awesome when the wastegate is open, don`t think the boys in blue would like it though!!!

A new exhaust downpipe, oil and water lines and a new outlet to intercooler pipe has been fabricated along with a new heatshield.

So far so good, so out mapping yesterday, and fair enough the roads are a bit greasy here in fen-tractor land, but I soon noticed the arse end wiggling in 3rd as the car would skip sideways when losing traction in 3rd gear, also the rev limiter seemed to be cutting in and limiting the fun, so a quick check, I`d forgotten what it was set at (as I`m now old you see - according to Davy Mcloud P. anyways ) and it was already at 8,000,
so put it up another 250 rpm, and try again, thats better and its pulling really well all the way to the new redline.

This thing is quick FuFuFin quick, so off to the rollers and see what it can do.

Rolling road at Norwich this afternoon, and we were very pleased with ........

535.2 bhp at 8153rpm and thats 160mph on the speedo in 4th gear with the RC`s 3.9 diff.

399 lb/ft torque at 6125rpm.

We were running 2 bar boost from 4750 to redline.

It was mapped on 97 ron esso super unleaded. so some trick racefuel will bring quite a few more GG`s later on.

It is more laggy than the smaller turbo, 1 bar boost is reached at 4,250 building to 2 bar by 4750 rpm. but then this year the car is going to be used for drag racing first, and road use definately second.

We have to stop there until the new clutch arrives as we cannot launch the car without slip, so don`t have any times as yet either.

The car has been given a new nickname R1 by the boys at work, dunno wether it will be that fast but we will definately try, stage 3 will be along shortly...

Will post the rolling road report when its scanned, and heres a pic of the new setup.
